I can certainly distinguish how my characters talk--like different phrases they might use, or like, a shy character will use a lot of "ums." But I don't think I could really describe what their voices actually sound like. Now I'm thinking that's something to work on. I noticed the same thing you did -- I've never been able to see my MC as clearly as the other characters. Also something that I haven't been able to get down is the characters' voices.
